Chief Executive Officer

He is a seasoned professional banker with 24 years of experience in Financial Management, Risk Analysis & Research and expertise in Portfolio Management of Corporate and Commercial Banking obligors. He has worked with various financial institutions and held key positions in the Corporate Banking Sector. After joining Allied Bank in 2005 as Regional Corporate Head, he has held different senior management positions such as Head-Commercial Assets, Head of Commercial & Retail Risk, Head of Operational Risk, Group Head Corporate & Financial Institutions Risk and Group Head Liabilities. Before becoming CEO at Allied Bank, he was performing the role of Chief Risk Officer (CRO) of the Bank. Mr. Gill is a graduate from The University of Engineering & Technology, Lahore (UET) and has his Master’s degree in Business Administration from California State University, Fullerton (CSUF), USA. He is a Chevening Scholar, with a Master’s degree in Business Economics from University of Manchester Institute of Science & Technology (UMIST), UK. He has also attended Executive Education courses on Leadership and Management from various institutions, including Columbia University and London Business School. He has also been nominated by Allied Bank as a Director on the Board of ABL Asset Management Company Limited and representative at Management Association of Pakistan (MAP) and Pakistan Business Council (PBC).

Chief, Corporate and Investment Banking

Owais Shahid is Chief, Corporate & Investment Banking Group in Allied Bank Limited (ABL). His portfolio includes Financial Institutions & International Banking, Corporate & Investment Banking, Capital Markets, Cash Management and Home Remittances. He joined ABL in 2005 and has led its investment banking team as Head Syndications and then as Group Head Investment Banking. He was elevated as Chief, Corporate & Investment Banking Group in 2015.
His Corporate & Investment Banking experience spans over 23 years and includes numerous innovative and unique transactions in syndications, M&A, listings, project financing and capital markets. With strong credit background and substantial corporate finance & advisory experience, he has led a number of landmark deals, and has executed over 500 investment banking transactions valuing over USD 40 Billion with ABL being in a lead role. These also include various “first of its kind”, “largest” and “award-winning” transactions concluded in history of Pakistan’s investment banking industry. In recognition of ABL’s market leadership in investment banking in Pakistan, ABL was honored with over 40 investment banking awards from internationally recognized institutions.
Owais has also served on the Boards of Hub Power, Kot Addu Power, Atlas Power, Narowal Energy, Laraib Energy & First Receivable Securitization Company and was a Member Trustee of Friends of IBA Trust. Prior to joining ABL, he has worked for National Bank of Pakistan, Standard Chartered Modaraba and Emirates Bank International. His qualifications include BBA (Hons) & MBA from IBA, Karachi and Chartered Financial Analyst from CFA Institute, USA.

Chief Human Resources

Ms. Saira Shahid Hussain is driving forward the Human Capital vision and plans for developing on array of Human Resources initiatives across Allied Bank Limited. She holds over 20+ years of diversified experience in the field of Human Resources working for various National and International level organizations. She held multiple leadership roles with various corporate sectors across Pakistan. She joined ABL in 2011 and has played a pivotal role in devising and implementing best HR practices at the Bank. She provides strategic leadership by articulating HR needs and plans and is responsible for developing and executing Human Resource strategy in support of the overall business plan, strategic direction and vision of the Bank, specifically in the areas of strategic planning and recruitment, talent management, change management, organizational performance management, training & development and compensation & benefits management. She gained several significant experiences incorporating restructuring, change management, union negotiations and has the rich experience of HR in establishing new multinational organization. Ms. Saira holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration and is a ‘Certified Master Trainer’. She is a recognized thought-leader, speaker on the topics of leadership, gender diversity, career progression and youth employment. Besides participating on various national and international strategic forums, she has represented Pakistan as Gender Ambassador on Global forums. Since 2013, she has held the additional role of Chief Anti-Harassment Officer for the Bank. She is committed to developing best Human Capital for Business support while enhancing talent and experience by enabling growth of next generation of skilled professionals and business leaders for the organizations. She possess an empathetic approach towards problem solving and is committed to develop the Bank as a positive employer brand. At Allied Bank she is presently designated as Chief Human Resources.

Chief Treasury

Mr. Ahmad Faheem Khan has been with ABL since January 2008 and has over 21 years of experience in the banking sector. Prior to joining ABL, he has worked in treasury areas of multinational banks and State Bank of Pakistan. He holds a Master of Commerce degree; is an associate member of Institute of Cost & Management Accountants of Pakistan and has also qualified examinations of CIMA (U.K.). His pragmatic approach and drive to excel coupled with a strong commitment to prudent risk management has transformed ABL treasury into an active and effective team in the banking industry.

Chief Technology and Digital Transformation

A seasoned professional with diversified experience in the areas of Business Process Reengineering, IT Planning & Development, Project Management, Systems Implementation, Team Building and Service Quality Assurance, acquired during a successful career spread over a period of 25 years gives Mujahid a distinct edge with exceptionally judicious skills in management. He joined the Bank in 2008 as Chief Information Technology, and through his deep understanding of banking processes and immense ability to work through complex problems, he has successfully transformed Allied Bank’s “Conventional Banking Systems” into “Robust IT Systems”. Mr Mujahid holds a Masters degree in Business Administration. Before joining Allied Bank he was associated with a prominent local group and held key positions.

Chief Special Asset Management

Mr. Asif Bashir is a seasoned banker having more than 29 years of diversified experience in the banking industry. He has an MBA degree with major in Finance. He has wide-ranging exposure in banking with emphasis on Public Sector lending, Commodity Operations Financing, Corporate Banking Operations, Trade Finance, Special Assets Management and International Remittance Business. He started his career with HBL in 1990 and served as Head of Public Sector, Corporate Banking before joining ABL in 2005. He has attended numerous International and domestic professional trainings/certifications during his professional career. After serving as Chief Commercial & Retail Banking Group (South) for 6 years, he is now working Chief Special Asset Management of the Bank from January 2022.

Chief Islamic Banking

Mr. Shahid Amir is a seasoned banker, with over 32 years of rich experience to his credit in the areas of Business and Banking Operations. He holds Master’s degree in Business Administration and has acquired Diplomas in Islamic Banking and Total Quality Management with professional trainings from prestigious institutions in Pakistan and United Kingdom. Mr. Shahid started his banking career in 1989 from BCCI. His vast exposure of Branch Banking in Askari Bank spreads over a period of 16 years before joining ABL in 2008. At Allied Bank, he has served the bank as Regional Head Islamabad, Group Head CRBG (South) and Group Head BSG (North). After serving as Chief Commercial & Retail Banking Group (North) from 2017 till 2021, he is now serving as Chief Islamic Banking Group from January 2022.

Chief General Services & Real Estate

Mr. Imran Maqsood has a diverse experience of more than 24 years within banking sector. He has done his MBA from a prestigious institution of the country and is also an Associate Member of the Institute of Bankers of Pakistan (IBP). Further, he also holds international certifications from Institute of Internal Auditors and Information Systems Audit & Control Association USA. He has participated in various courses and seminars on foreign exchange, risk-oriented audit methodology, supervision of Financial Conglomerates and other areas of financial sector operations in Pakistan and abroad.

He possesses expertise in the areas of regulatory oversight, audit and compliance. He started his professional career in 1993 from State Bank of Pakistan. He has been associated with Allied Bank since 2005 and now serving as Chief General Services & Real Estate of the Bank.

Chief Commercial & Retail Banking
(North)

A seasoned professional with over 29 years experience in Commercial and Corporate Banking with diversified portfolio of Deposits, SME/Corporate Finance and Trade. He started his career in 1992 and served Bank of Punjab, MCB and Faysal Bank before joining Allied Bank in 2007 as Regional Head Business. Mr. Abid was elevated as Group Head Commercial & Retail Banking in the year 2012 and served in different Groups (South 2, North 2 and North 1) comprising of varied area market and business segments from Gilgit – Baltistan, Azad Kashmir to Multan – Bahawalpur. He has an MBA degree with major in Finance. He has also attended International and domestic professional trainings/certifications including Leadership Development Program at National University of Singapore. Mr. Abid served as Chief Special Assets Management Group from 2018 to 2021 and is now serving the Bank as Chief Commercial and Retail Banking Group from January 2022.

Chief Commercial & Retail Banking (South)

A seasoned banker with banking experience of more than 25 Years. Mr. Jamil after completion of his MBA – Finance from Peshawar University started his career in 1995 and served in MCB bank and Habib Bank before joining Allied Bank. He joined the Bank in 2008 as Regional Head Commercial & Retail Banking and was elevated to the position of Group Head in 2012. Over the past 9 years, he served as Group Head in Banking Services, Commercial & Retail Banking based at Lahore, Multan, Islamabad and Karachi. During his professional career at the Bank, he has attended various international and domestic trainings. Presently, he is serving as Chief Commercial and Retail Banking Group (South) since January 2022.

Chief Risk Management

Mr. Moin Khalid has over 20 years of multifaceted experience in the field of risk analysis, finance, strategic planning, consultancy and assurance services. He joined Allied Bank in 2009 and has worked in positions of Head Budgeting and Strategic Planning in Finance, Head Credit Risk Review in Internal Audit and Head Enterprise Risk in Risk Management.

He has played an integral role in implementation and enhancement of various automated systems for oversight of the Bank’s spectrum of risk-taking and control activities.

Prior to joining Allied Bank, he has worked at a senior position at The Pakistan Credit Rating Agency – PACRA. He is a fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountant of Pakistan with articles from A.F. Ferguson & Co.

Chief Audit & Risk Review

Mr. Shaffa Hussain is an experienced professional having more than 20 years of banking experience. He has worked with State Bank of Pakistan, Habib Bank Limited and Bank Al-Habib. He is associated with Allied Bank Limited since 2008 and has worked on various positions in Audit function and Banking Services.
He holds a Master’s degree in Banking from Monash University, Australia and MBA from University of Peshawar. His professional qualifications include Certified Internal Auditor from Institute of Internal Auditors, USA and DAIBP from Institute of Bankers, Pakistan. He is currently heading the Audit & Risk Review function as Chief.

Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Muhammad Atif Mirza is a fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan. He joined Allied Bank Limited in 2016 as Head of Management & IS Audit and then served as Officiating Chief Audit & Risk Review, before being elevated to current position of Chief Financial Officer. Prior to joining Allied Bank, he has worked as Partner with a leading audit firm and has attended training programs and conferences on Leadership, Change Management and Banking.
He carries over 20 years of diversified experience in strategic leadership roles and team building and is currently heading Finance function as Chief Financial Officer.

Chief Banking Services

A seasoned banker with banking experience of more than 26 Years. Mr. Zubair Sharif after completion of his M.Sc. Statistics from University of the Punjab (Lahore) started his career in 1996. He joined Allied Bank in 2006 in Corporate and Investment Banking Group. He has multi-dimensional banking experience in areas like corporate, branch banking, branch transformation, data analytics and trade finance. He also possesses rich experience in banking operations, policy/procedures, digital transformation & customer journey mapping.

Over the past 8 years, he served as Group Head of various functions like Branch Banking Operations, Centralized Operations and Banking Policies & Procedures in Banking Services & Digital Banking Groups. During his professional career at the Bank, he has attended various trainings. Presently, he is serving as Chief Banking Services Group.

Company Secretary

Mr. Adeel Javaid is a Fellow member of Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan (ICAP) with more than 15 years of diverse experience in the fields of Financial and Industrial Management. He started his professional career from industrial manufacturing sector in 2007. He joined Allied Bank in 2016, and has served in Finance, Risk Management and Corporate Affairs Groups of the Bank. Presently, he is serving as Company Secretary of the Bank since January 2022.

Chief Compliance

Mr. Tariq Mehmood Shahid carries more than 25 years of diversified Commercial Banking and Central Bank experience. He has been associated with Allied Bank for more than 17 years. Throughout his tenure, he gained valuable and relevant expertise. His professional journey encompasses key roles in Audit, Investigations, Compliance, Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Counter Financing of Terrorism (CFT), and related domains.

He is a member of Institute of Cost & Management Accountants Pakistan. He holds Bachelor’s Degree in Business/Commerce and has certifications from Oracle and Microsoft.

Chief Digital Officer

Mr. Mohsin Mithani is an accomplished digital banking expert and a visionary data strategist with a rich experience of over 22 years in spearheading transformative financial landscapes. With a strong commitment to innovation, his journey includes achievements in digital metamorphosis, data orchestration, financial inclusivity and digital lending. He possesses expertise in payment ecosystems, data monetization, big data insights, and artificial intelligence, all contributing to enhanced customer experience.

Demonstrating an established record of nurturing data-driven culture and propelling business diversification, Mr. Mithani has been instrumental in increasing efficiency and revenue stream, all while fostering an ecosystem steeped in pioneering ideation.

Mr. Mithani is working as Chief Digital Officer of Allied Bank since June 2023. Prior to this position, he has held various senior positions in Allied Bank such as Group Head Digital Financial Services & Innovation and Group Head Digital Business, Analytics & AI. He has also worked for Faysal Bank and Abacus Consulting. Mr. Mithani is an alumnus of FAST – Karachi with Bachelor degree in Computer Science, and a luminary with an MBA in Finance & Marketing, complemented by distinguished certifications from the University of Virginia – USA and Amazon.

Chief Information Technology

A seasoned Information Technology professional with over 22 years of experience in Software Development and Implementation. Mr. Nauman ul Haq Qureshi joined Allied Bank Limited in 2006 and has played a major in role in transforming the Bank from Legacy Systems to state of the art centralized Core Banking System. Coupled with exceptional problem-solving skills and diversified experience, which includes Middleware and Digital Platforms, Mr. Nauman has successfully lead IT teams to establish Organization wide Eco System. During his tenure with ABL he has held key positions. His qualifications include MS in Computer Sciences from Hamdard University and MS in Software Project Management from National University of Computer & Emerging Sciences.
